Despite its video game origins the movie version of Need For Speed is a Fast and Furious wannabee.  Sure it has Aaron “Breaking Bad” Paul as the star and stunt demon Scott Waugh directing the mayhem, but it is the plentiful assortment of bad ass American Muscle Cars and European multimillion dollar roadsters that  are the real stars.
Movies like this only strive for ultimate car porn: to look bad, drive fast and crash furiously.   The actors are there only for eye-candy, the close-ups and the OMG reaction shots.   Everyone knows the plot: get revenge on those who done the hero wrong, save the damsel a few times from harm and violation– and make sure you finish the race in first place.
